Fishing Holidays in the UK
Discover an angler’s paradise at Norfolk Holiday Lodges, where the gentle flow of the River Yare sets the stage for a beautiful Fishing Holiday. Nestled by the enchanting Norfolk Broads, our lodges offer a tranquil retreat for those seeking to escape the rush of daily life and immerse themselves in the pleasure of fishing. The call of the river is strong and waiting for you to answer with rod in hand, ready to create unforgettable memories in this picturesque setting.
Fishing on the Tidal Norfolk Broads
Fishing on the tidal waters of the Norfolk Broads is as much about the experience as it is the catch. These beautiful rivers are shaped by natural movements, meaning conditions can vary from week to week, all part of the charm of fishing here. Guests will enjoy the peaceful riverside setting, the variety of fish species, and the simple pleasure of spending time outdoors on a tidal river. While no catch can ever be guaranteed, the Broads offer a relaxing, authentic fishing experience for anglers of all levels.
What can I expect?
The Norfolk Broads are a living, tidal river system. Some weeks fish particularly well, while others are quieter – a reflection of changing tides, water levels, and seasonal conditions. Many anglers find this variety part of the enjoyment, offering a more traditional and rewarding fishing experience than stocked waters.
Where to get your bait
For fishing supplies we recommend Angling Direct located in Wroxham or Lathams of Potter Heigham both of which are easier to get to than the closer Norwich options due to traffic conditions.
Important information
Please remember to bring your rod permit, as this waterway is a protected gem which we are all responsible for preserving. Fishing permits can easily be obtained by visiting https://www.gov.uk/fishing-licences and then you’re all set to cast your line into these inviting waters.
Perfect Fishing Holiday Accommodation
On the riverside, as the sun dips below the horizon, casting breathtaking sunsets over the Broads, enjoy the convenience of fishing in the open season from your garden or decking, with only the tranquil sounds of river activity as your backdrop.
Quieter waters can be found at our marina lodges, where the gentle flow of the river water from the Yare feeds into the backwaters. Early birds will enjoy the sunrise. Fish directly from your garden and enjoy watching the boats meander to and from the river as well as the wildlife who frequent both marina and river locations.
Leave the cool box at home as our lodges benefit from their own fishing bait fridge for your private use.
Private moorings
For those who want to venture further into the broads to hunt down their catch, moorings for your own or hired boat are mere steps away at the end of the garden / decking, and with the added convenience of a nearby slipway, fishing adventures could not be easier.
Much more...
In between fishing excursions, explore the countryside and coastline, or simply relax on your veranda with dining furniture, savouring the peace of waterside living. Brundall offers local pubs, eateries, and a small selection of shops to enrich your stay. For a larger choice of shops and entertainment, head to Norwich or Great Yarmouth, both of which are accessible by train from Brundall station, walking distance from our lodges.
At Norfolk Holiday Lodges, every detail caters to the perfect Fishing Holidays UK, balancing rustic charm with the luxury of direct water access – for days filled with the allure of the catch and evenings wrapped in the comfort of your cosy holiday lodge.

Posted on jayne martin We had a wonderful week at River View. The weather wasn’t great and the fishing was really hard, but that’s river fishing for you, very unpredictable. We sat every day at the bottom of the garden being very comfortable with the fishing set up, more than enough room for two people, and we have a lot of gear between us! The dogs loved it too although we did take a 12 meter roll of fencing and some stakes so they couldn’t get near the water’s edge. It worked so well we were asked by both sets of neighbours where we got it from! They just happily played and slept whilst we fished. The accommodation is wonderful, very spacious and immaculately clean. We took two cheap king size fitted sheets from Asda to put over the sofas to protect them from dog hairs so we didn’t have to worry if they got on them whilst we were fishing, The view was amazing. We also appreciated the shed and bait fridge, and loved being able to drive onto the property, and have room to turn around the car, plus once the gates were shut, you felt very secure. You could easily park four cars there. All in all one of the cleanest and nicest properties we have stayed in, especially when you consider it is dog friendly. NHL deserve all the praise they get.Posted on jayne martin We had a wonderful week at River View. Spotless, fab fixtures and fittings. Amazing management by Tina who went above and beyond to make us all welcome. It was Halloween so lots of little extra touches, dressing up for our grandchildren & providing treats for them & our dogs. Cafe & pub on site. Station a short walk allowing easy access to Norwich, Great Yarmouth & Lowestoft. Fishing for the family from the huge outside deck. We've already booked 2 more breaks. Another return visit fab as always. 🥰Posted on Jane Moore Wow what a fantastic Lodge. Spotless, fab fixtures and fittings. Amazing management by Tina who went above and beyond to make us all welcome. From the moment we arrived, we relaxed and got into 'holiday mode'. The lodge was extremely clean and we received a warm welcome from Tina. We enjoyed being alongside the water and seeing the ducks and the heron who were regular visitors. From the lodge, you can also see the boats heading out to the river from the marina which we enjoyed. The lodge was very well-appointed with everything you could want. I had taken tea towels, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid but didn't need to as it was all provided. We were a party of 6 adults and found that we had plenty of space to relax. The veranda area and garden were also great to use with plenty of seating. We visited the pub near the railway station on a few occasions over the weekend for both drinks and food. It was perfect to walk to and meant that we didn't have to drive anywhere all weekend. The food was great. Brundall has a couple of Co-op stores which we used along with other amenities. It was a wonderful weekend and the perfect backdrop for our family celebrations- thank you!Posted on maxine woods Last weekend we stayed in River Breeze lodge to celebrate my mum's 80th birthday. This place truly was home from home. Fishing was great, lots of tiddlers but some failed opportunities of pike and large bream straight from the decking! Good range of garden furniture including sun loungers which were lovely for soaking up the atmosphere. A broad is very close by and easily reached by water, so do bring your SUP/canoe/kayak. Tina was extremely responsive throughout our booking and our stay. A great stay and thoroughly enjoyed it.Posted on Christine Hiskey What a wonderful place Ferry Lodge is, a great position on the river Yare with a lovely view of the country pub, on the other side of the river (you'll need your own transport to get across the river or around a 1 hr journey by car), passing boats and great evening sunsets.
